Behind The Surface of A Suspended Tear

from Behind The Surface by Bradford W. Tilden

/

about

I wrote this piece on a dinky Casio keyboard while staying in my cousin's basement on Martha's Vinyard during the summer of 2003. Little did I know if would become the title track of this album. The somewhat despondent mood captured the droll of living and working and sleeping underground, but the breath of fresh air that emerges, and delicate melody that ensues is reminiscent of the theme song of one of my favorite animated movies when I was a kid, The Secret Of Nimh.
