about

This is a very special album to me. I created it while I was living in Orinda California in 2007. Instead of composing the music, I simply pressed record on my mixer and captured what every came out in the moment.

To me, this a form of meditation. Each piece has it's own character and is a sonic journey in itself. One thing that is unique to this recording is the sound of the acoustic piano. If you listen closely, the bass notes sometimes sound like deep guitar strings. This is because the piano I was playing on had a cracked soundboard. But to me, the timbre was so captivating I emphasized it's uniqueness.

The album and track titles are my impressions of the great Redwood Forests along the Northern California Coast. Shortly after completing the project, I took the master disc in the card with e while I went on a road trip to Crescent City, CA at the top tip of the state along the Redwood Highway from San Francisco with my housemate at the time to teach a Crystal Healing workshop, and appear on a radio station for an interview there.

All we listened to during the ride was this music on repeat. I fell in love with it because of the magical moments that I had spontaneously created in the music.

Each piece is truly a meditation, and the album as a whole certainly is. I encourage you to give yourself time to give the music a chance to sweep you away with it.
